The International Space Station was again transmitting SSTV images in a memorial event to honor Owen Garriott – W5LFL. He was the first person to operate amateur radio from space. We owe much to his efforts to bring the hobby to space for other operators.
I was able to receive 10 of the 12 images that were transmitted during this period and they are displayed below in no particular order.
My usual equipment was employed including a Funcube SDR and turnstile antenna. The images were transmitted at 145.800 Mhz in SSTV PD120 mode at 640 x 496 pixels and I have a previous blog post describing how I receive and decode the images that you can read about here http://digitalrust.co.uk/blogz/?p=780
Once again, thanks for looking 🙂
